I highly recommend attending..these events were VERY good last year..and seriously it is so easy for the kids to HIDE all of this and not even be aware of the dangers. I am a pro active parent involved parent and my eyes were blown away at what I saw and learned!Get informed and intervene if you think your child could be using drugs, tobacco, vapes, or alcohol. Where oh where should you drop off your gently loved items you ask...welllll check this out- starting TOMORROW through Friday we can allllll pack this truck full and have our school win this event!!!!

Goodwill Drive to Victory -truck will be at BHS beginning at 12pm on Monday 9/9. The truck will be picked up on Friday morning.

Here's the whole story from the school.

The battle for winning the weekly and overall grand prize is going through the area high school marching bands, their boosters and supporting communities. Each week, the bands will reach out to their families, friends and neighbors to help bring in the most donations for them to win a $200 weekly prize from Arby’s Dayton. And, the participating band will too receive a monetary donation of $100.
Cars, trucks, boats and RVs can also be donated and counted toward the school’s weekly total. Call 228-AUTO to donate or find out more details on how a vehicle donation can be made.
On Friday, the trailers will be picked up and weighed. The school Marching Band that has collected the most weight will be announced on Friday night during Touchdown 7 and will receive a $200 scholarship from Arby’s, and the runner up will receive $100.

Good afternoon, my name is Elise Hagenow and I am the riding instructor at Cape Cod Equestrian Center in Spring Valley. We are having a horse show at our farm this Saturday, August 10 from 10 AM to 3 PM. This event is free to attend and open to the public, and we would love for the community members of Bellbrook to join us.In light of the tragedy that took place in our hometown of Dayton this past Sunday Morning, Cape Cod Equestrian Center offers our condolences to the family and friends of the victims and all of those affected by the Oregon District shooting.

We have been a part of the Bellbrook community for over 30 years, and are devastated by how this has affected our home and the people in it. We may not be able to offer much, but our doors are open for anyone who wants to come by our barn and spend some time with our horses, or just see a friendly face.

Our Summer Farm Show is this Saturday, August 10th beginning at 10:00 AM, and we would love for our community members to join us and take part in the enjoyment that our horses and riders bring to us. Every year, a portion of the proceeds from our Horse Show are donated back to our local community or Show Horse community.

This year, in addition to raising funds for the Steven Glick family to help cover medical costs for an accident that his wife Barbie suffered earlier this year, 25% of the proceeds of any riding lessons purchased during our Farm Show will be donated to the Dayton Oregon District Tragedy Fund of The Dayton Foundation. Direct donations to both causes will also be accepted.

Individual donations can also be made to the Oregon District Tragedy Fund by visiting
www.daytonfoundation.org/dayton_oregon_district_tragedy_fund.html

We are here to support our community in any way that we can.

Info to pass along from the district regarding the upcoming school year bussing. The link may or may not be working as I believe it is overloaded with people trying to get on so please just keep trying.

Make note of the dates for the two Transportation Safety Partnership meetings in July.

Dear Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Parents/Guardians,

This is a follow-up to the letter I sent to you on June 13, 2019 regarding transportation changes we will be implementing in the 2019-20 school year due to the May 7 Levy failure.

Beginning August 2019, we will implement several changes to the transportation plan for students, including:
Transportation Ineligibility Zones, which means some neighborhoods will not receive transportation;
Adjustments to school start/end times to provide a more efficient use of busing;
Bellbrook High School juniors and seniors will only be bussed by application only; and
Alterations to traffic flows at each school.

New school start and end times for 2019-20 school year are as follows:
Bellbrook High School - 8am-3:00pm
Bellbrook Middle School - 7:50am-2:50pm (students may enter the building at 7:30am)
Bell Creek Intermediate - 8am-3:00pm (students may enter the building at 7:45am)
Stephen Bell Elementary - 9:05am-3:55pm (students may enter the building at 8:50am)
Preschool - AM: 9:20am-11:50am, PM: 1:15pm-3:45pm

Starting July 1, you can visit the Transportation page on the district website to see if your child(ren) will be eligible for bus service: www.sugarcreek.k12.oh.us/StudentBusInfo.aspx.

Click on the Versatrans e-Link and then use your child’s ID# for both the username and password. First, click on Students, then View My Students, click on your child’s name, then click on Show Transportation Information. If the Status states No Bus then your child will not be receiving bus service this school year. If it shows a pick-up spot, then will be receiving bus service.

Applications for bus service for high school Juniors and Seniors can also be found on the district Transportation webpage: www.sugarcreek.k12.oh.us/TransportationForms.aspx

As a result of the adjusted school hours, students attending Bellbrook High School, Bellbrook Middle School and Bell Creek Intermediate School will ride the buses together, improving the efficiency of the entire transportation department. Students at Stephen Bell and the preschool will ride together. We understand that there are concerns about older and younger students riding on the buses together, but we will make every effort to ensure that students are separated and that all students will understand the behavior expectations we have on our buses, just as in our schools.

Safety will continue to be a top priority for us at Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Schools and with that in mind, Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Schools’ administrators have met with and are working with Sugarcreek Township and the Bellbrook Police to ensure as smooth and safe transition as possible. Additionally, we are also looking for volunteers to coordinate crossing guards at each of the buildings. Please email your child’s building principal if you are interested in participating in that initiative.

We want to make sure that our families have time to plan and prepare; therefore, we are hosting Transportation Safety Partnership meetings. District parents wishing to attend may choose to attend on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 OR Thursday, July 25, 2019, as the meeting agendas will be identical. The agenda will include time for your questions to be answered. Meeting times are as follows:
Stephen Bell parents: 6:00 pm-7:00 pm in the Stephen Bell gymnasium
Bellbrook High School, Bellbrook Middle School, and Bell Creek Intermediate School parents: 7:30-8:30 pm in the Bell Creek gymnasium

We want to do whatever we can to make these transitions as smooth as possible for all involved. I strongly encourage you to attend one of the Transportation Safety Partnership meetings; however, if you are unable to attend please do not hesitate to contact me or your child’s building principal.

Thank you,
Dr. Douglas Cozad
Superintendent

As we welcome our new mayor of Bellbrook we want to take a moment and share our appreciation for ALLLLL that Robert Baird has done for our community and our little city! Bob it has absolutely been a pleasure to work together and we wish you the very best as you continue on doing great works for those around you.

You will be missed!!!At Monday evening's City Council meeting, Mayor Robert Baird announced his resignation. Mayor Baird will be moving outside of the City limits and based on City Charter, unable to continue to serve in the position of Mayor as a result. Mayor Baird has served the City of Bellbrook for the past 15 and a half years. He served for 8 years on City Council from 2004 until 2011 and then was elected Mayor in 2012.

"I would like to thank the residents of the City of Bellbrook for giving me the opportunity to serve the community for over 15 years. I have immensely enjoyed serving as Mayor, and working with the residents, City Council and City of Bellbrook staff."

A celebration in honor of Mayor Baird's service to the community will be held and details will be forthcoming.

From the entire staff of the City of Bellbrook, we wish Mayor Baird all the best and thank him for his incredible contributions to the community.

Deputy Mayor Mike Schweller will serve as Mayor until the end of the year when a new Mayor will be elected during the November election.

Our police department is always looking out for the community...read this and take note of what is happening around us. 🙁This past weekend Bellbrook experienced a number of thefts from motor vehicles. These occurred between the hours of 2am - 430am early Friday morning June 14th. These incidents occurred on Vemco Drive, Regent Park, Beechwood Drive, Hillcrest Drive and in the Mill Pond apartment community. We are investigating every opportunity to identify any suspects who may be responsible. If you have information you feel might be beneficial to locating these suspects, you are urged to call our department at 848-3252, x3026.

BPD reminds you to:

1). Lock your car. Thieves of this nature thrive on being undetected - and unlocked vehicles are easy prey.

2). Don't leave items of value in plain sight in your car. If you can, take the items with you.

Here is another way you can help for those of you that are asking and thank you for all you are doing-it is NOT going unappreciated.

From Alaina: This is our church, and this is how you can help...I promise the money will be going where it says it is and this is a SAFE donation option. Thank you for your generosity to help rebuild our community which is in pure devastation after the horrific tornadoes this week. If any of you need something PLEASE let us know-we can do whatever is needed to help you. This week, we’re supplying resources for several churches closer to the affected areas who are already assisting local storm victims.

You can help by making a financial contribution in one of three ways:

1. Text “relief” and an amount to 937-202-4050
2. Give online and select “2019 Storm Relief”
3. Write a check to Fairhaven Church with “storm relief” in the memo

If you’ve been directly affected by the storms and have an immediate need, please let us know how you’ve been impacted.

Here is how we as a community can help our neighbors....
if you feel so inclined please read the following and participate as you can.

It's super simple to grab a case of water and a few snacks that will be such a blessing to those in desperate need.

Thank you!

The church is open as a Red Cross Shelter. We have some families here. Many have asked what we need.
1) Bottled Water - there is a boil advisory for Montgomery County so we anticipate needing this!
2) Gift Cards to places like Subway, Jimmy Johns, City BBQ, etc. We are only allowed to serve store bought food.
3) Personal hygiene items (tooth brush, tooth paste, shampoo, soap, deodorant, etc)
4) Dry goods ready to eat or microwaveable items we can send with people (cereal, canned goods, easy Mac, peanut butter, granola bars, etc)The church is open as a Red Cross Shelter. We have some families here. Many have asked what we need.
